We’ve gathered all our favorite Kid-Friendly activities in St. Augustine to help you plan your kid-friendly vacation.

1. Beaches

St. Augustine has over 40 miles of coastline and beaches are scattered all around. The closest beach to our Creston House vacation rentals is Butler Beach. This beach is one of the less popular beaches in St. Augustine, so you are sure to get a prime spot on the sand. Some of the beaches nearby include Crescent Beach and St. Augustine Beach. No matter which beach you choose, these white sandy beaches and sparkling oceans are sure to give you the perfect beach day.

2. St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park

Take a trip up to the St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park to see a wide variety of different animals. Yes, they do have alligators, but they also have a variety of different species of birds, reptiles, lemurs, and sloths. Throughout the day they hold a variety of wildlife shows that educate you on the animal of the hour. If your kids are a little bit older, they also provide the opportunity to zipline over a portion of the park.

3. Castillo de San Marcos

Built by the Spanish in the mid-1690s, Castillo de San Marcos is the oldest brink-and-mortar structure in the United States. This was built to protect the city from raids by privateers. Your kids can become a Junior Ranger while you explore the Castillo. Just ask the front desk for a junior ranger booklet. It is full of activities for your kids to complete. Once completed, your child can earn a Junior Ranger Badge. View the historic weapons, the fort's lower room, and the upper gun deck. There are over 20 acres of grassy land that sits around the fort which is the perfect place for a picnic and kite flying.

4. St Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum

Experience what it means to be a lighthouse keeper at the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum. There are tons of kid-friendly activities here! Kids can play in the shipyard play area, participate in the maritime scavenger hunt, view shipwreck artifacts, and visit the Keepers House exhibit. For those 44 inches and taller, they get to climb the lighthouse and look at the 360-degree views from the observation deck. All children must climb the lighthouse with their own power as carrying children is prohibited. Any children that do not meet the height requirements have free admission and one accompanying adult gets half-off admission.

5. Marineland Dolphin Adventure

View Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins, Sea turtles, and red-footed tortoises at Marineland Dolphin Adventure. They have general admission for those who would just like to view all the animals, but they also have a wide selection of animal experiences. The animal experiences include swimming and interacting with dolphins, painting with dolphins or tortoises, and becoming a trainer or aquarist for the day. Most experiences do have an age limit of 5 years old, but some will allow 3–4-year olds into the experience with 2 accompanying adults and they must be held the whole time.

6. Black Raven Adventures

Sail aboard a real pirate ship to find the treasure that has been stolen by Blackbeard's Queen Anne’s Revenge. Your 90-minute trip on the Pirate Ship Black Raven with feature sword fighting between pirates, pirate jokes and shanties, a sea battle between the Black Raven and Queen Anne’s Revenge, cannon firing, and booty (or treasure) sharing (once the treasure has been retrieved.)

7. Pirate & Treasure Museum

Continue your pirate adventure at the Pirate & Treasure Museum. Travel back 300 years to the Height of the Golden Age of Piracy in Port Royal, Jamacia. This indoor museum is the best place to go to avoid any unfriendly weather. View over 800 artifacts, factual and fictional, and interact with the hands-on display. 8. Colonial Quarter

Visit the place where history truly comes alive! The Colonial Quarter takes you through the history of St. Augustine going back 500 years. Join one of the tours to learn about blacksmithing, watch a live musket demonstration, climb the 35-foot watchtower, and walk through the boardwalk to view all the flags that have flown in St. Augustine. There are some family-friendly restaurants scattered in the quarter and they even host a regular series of outdoor concerts and movies. 

9. Mini-Golf

You cannot venture too far within St. Augustine without coming across a golf course. The Anastasia Miniature Golf is a wonderful 18-hole course that features a pirate ship, a tunnel, waterfalls, and several challenging holes. Fiesta Falls Mini Golf is another option in St. Augustine. This 18-hole course overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and features 8 waterfalls as well as a 65-foot ship guests can play through. Lastly, there is the oldest mini-golf course in Florida, Ripley’s Bayfront Mini Golf. This difficult 18- hole course is right next to the Bridge of Lions and is a must not miss.

10. Adventure Landing

Last on our list is Adventure Landing. This entertainment facility features a variety of different activities that kids can participate in. Children can test their driving skills on the go-kart track, hit a few home runs in the batting cages, test their golf clap at the mini-golf course, and rack up the ticket in the arcade.
